Santos Narrabri Operations Manager Todd Dunn, has spoken to the Narrabri Courier about the Santos’ bushfire preparedness.
Todd explained a comprehensive bushfire management plan is in place that was developed in close consultation with the Rural Fire Service.
All staff and contractors undertake bushfire awareness training and Santos also has extensive safeguards in place in the field.
Surface equipment in the field is rated to withstand extremely high temperature fires and in an emergency, operations can be shut down remotely from the Narrabri office within minutes.
Todd says in the event of a bushfire, the number one focus is to ensure everyone is safe.
“Our aim is to get our people out, anyone associated with us and anyone else in the forest”.
