Blue Boars Grand Final

Congratulations to the Santos Narrabri Blue Boars on a terrific rugby season. Unfortunately the team’s attempt to win three Central North Rugby Premierships in a row was foiled in the Grand Final, by a terrific effort from the Pirates. The Tamworth boys were too good at home, with a decisive 66-19 win over the Blue Boars in cold, windy and muddy conditions. There was a great atmosphere at Ken Chillingworth Oval, with a large and enthusiastic contingent making the trip down from Narrabri for Saturday’s game.

We were delighted Santos ambassador and former Wallaby, Tim Horan, could be on hand to cheer on the Blue Boars and present the trophy to the Pirates Captain, following their well-deserved victory.  Congratulations also to Blue Boar Jake Packer, who was named the Central North’s Under 21 Player of the Year.

We are proud of our long association with the Blue Boars and our continuing sponsorship of the broader Central North Rugby Union. Well done and thanks to the players and all those volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure it was a great season of regional rugby.
