The Narrabri Gas Project Community Consultative Committee (CCC) first convened in December 2014 with representatives from government, key industry and community organisations and Santos. The committee was independently chaired by the NSW Land and Water Commissioner from December 2014 to September 2019 and by a representative of Regional NSW, Department of Planning, Industry and Environment from November 2019 to December 2020.
The CCC’s role was to identify issues of community concern and to help facilitate the distribution of information about Santos’ work and plans back to the community.

Prior to the establishment of the current CCC in 2014 under the direction of the Department of Resources and Energy, Santos had set up Community Consultative Committees in both Narrabri and the Upper Hunter.
As Santos is currently focussed on plans to develop the Narrabri Gas Project, the Upper Hunter CCC no longer meets regularly.
