The NSW Environment Protection Authority has determined that there was “no apparent environmental or health risks” from the minor rainwater run off on the Santos Leewood site near Narrabri.

Rainwater pooled on the Leewood site, where Santos is in the process of constructing a water treatment facility, after Narrabri received about 14mm of rain over January 3 and 4. This rainwater has now been cleared up.

The erosion and sediment control plan for the construction of Leewood Phase 2 meets all relevant requirements and was developed by an accredited erosion and sediment control specialist.

Santos continues to work with the EPA to ensure that the highest environmental standards are met.
