2015 Royal Flying Doctors Service Outback Car Trek

The Royal Flying Doctor’s Annual Outback Trek hit Narrabri last night, with around 250 teams and their brightly decorated vehicles overnighting in town.

Over the past 25 years, the Trek has raised more than $22 million dollars for the Royal Flying Doctor. With the Doctor providing an invaluable service to the thousands of Santos employees and contractors working in remote locations, we are proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Trek and to help host the teams in Narrabri.

This year the week-long rally is travelling from Mildura to Byron Bay. Much of the 3200 kilometre course is “off the beaten track” on little used back roads and even private farm roads and access tracks, ensuring the Trekkers get a terrific look at the countryside and visit lots of out of the way locations.

After a hearty breakfast at the Narrabri Bowling Club this morning, the Trekkers headed off to Stanthorpe for their next stop, but not before shelling out almost $1000 on raffle tickets to support the Narrabri Youth Shack.

We chipped in for the raffle prize of a very handy $500 BP fuel voucher and a delicious local produce hamper and our team were on hand to wave the competitors off as they headed north.

Good luck and drive safely!
