Santos welcomes the result of the NSW election. It ensures there is a government that is focussed on the development of the natural gas industry to deliver much needed energy security for NSW.

Voters have rejected the position taken by Labor leader Luke Foley to shut down the coal seam gas industry including the Narrabri Gas Project. The Government now has a clear mandate to proceed with the further development of a safe and sustainable coal seam gas industry in NSW.
Santos will be working closely with the Government, customers, investors and the Narrabri community to deliver the Narrabri Gas Project. We will also work with the ALP to develop a bi-partisan policy position on resource development.
Natural gas can be delivered to NSW safely without risking water, the environment, the economy or the reputation of NSW as a reliable place to do business.
