Armon Hicks and Mark Rodgers with tour participants at Bibblewindi

On 6 February, a group of Aboriginal community members including Elders toured Santos’ sites in and around the Pilliga, as part of our ongoing program to keep the Aboriginal community informed about our work.

A pre-tour briefing at our Narrabri shopfront was followed by a visit to our Leewood water storage facility and then lunch at the site of our Bibblewindi operations.

Jon Bok Santos’ Principal Adviser on Aboriginal Engagement in NSW said: “It’s great to be able to share our story with Elders and members of the Aboriginal community, and for them to see firsthand what is involved in developing our project. The trip gave the group an opportunity to learn more about our operations and have their questions answered by our team. We really appreciated the time they spent with us and the travelling they undertook to join the tour.”

A number of similar tours are planned for 2015 and are open to all members of the Aboriginal community. For more information contact Ann Stewart on 6792 9035 or email culturalheritagecoordinatornsw@santos.com.
