The University of Newcastle’s Professor Bill Collins addressed a meeting in Narrabri to explain the science of extracting natural gas from coal seams and answer questions from the audience according to Narrabri’s Courier newspaper.

Farmer, business leaders and others from the Narrabri community heard that mining “has so far had a very small impact on land and water quality in NSW, compared to other existing industries”.

One person in the audience, Mr Max Davis, who owns a property close to CSG operations in the Pillaga said that he “learnt quite a bit tonight, and I feel pretty confident with the explanation from an independent figure”.
